Why Advertise In Wichita NewsBrief?
This is a unique publication compared to other advertising options. NewsBrief
fills its own particular niche, and has its strengths as well as weaknesses.
Our point is that NewsBrief is a great addition to what advertising you are
currently doing, not that we should be your only advertising vehicle. Here is
how we stack up:
Newspapers: NewsBrief is as yet limited in its size. We are not
trying to be an online newspaper. We limit the number of ads available in each
issue. In a newspaper, its very easy to get lost amid the sections and stories
and other ads. With NewsBrief, your message will stand out, increasing its
chance of being seen.
TV and Radio: The problem here is that you never know when your
customer is listening, so you have to do a lot of repetition in order to be
sure you saturate the market with your message. With its opt-out feature,
NewsBrief ideally is going only to those who want it, and are looking at it
nearly every day, ensuring that when your ad appears, it will be seen by our
readers.
Direct Mail: Same advantages for NewsBrief here. Lots of direct
mail pieces simply get tossed without being looked at because the recipient
didn't ask for it. Again, our publication is something that our readers want to
keep receiving, and so your ad will get looked at.
Weaknesses? Sure, we have them. We are a new publication, so our distribution is
small compared to what you can reach with either of the other options. But, our
distribution grows every day, which means its very inexpensive to advertise in
NewsBrief compared to other advertising options. We don't have the ability to
target who sees your ad. But, its not hard to imagine who our "average" reader
is: obviously someone adept at using a computer, and likes the convenience of
getting quickly brought up to speed with news that is of general interest
locally. most likely read at the very beginning of someone's day. Typically
read by people at work as one of the first things they do to start their day as
a function of checking their e-mail.
Advertising Options:
We currently offer three types of advertising options: Business card ads, and
our "Business Spotlight" section, and the opportunity to contribute a regular
article to the “Daily Feature” section. We limit the number of ads available in
each issue to reduce the clutter, which makes the issue more enjoyable for the
reader, and allows your message to clearly be seen.
"BUSINESS CARD" ADS
This can be your actual business card or a similar sized display ad. Their
purpose is to give you a "quick-hit", "bullet-point" message ability. There are
three positions available. One is in the news section, the second is at the
bottom of the news section, and the third is below the opinion section. Ad
dimensions should be designed around two inches by three and a half inches, (or
250 pixels wide by 150 pixels tall) with the understanding that the ad may be
re-sized during to the typesetting process. Advertisers may purchase both ads
under a section to give them a "banner-type" ad appearance.
BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT:
These give you the ability to go beyond the limitations of a display ad, and to
explain to potential customers who you are and why they need to do business
with you. They are done in a "news article" style, which encourages our readers
not to simply glance over it as advertising, but to read further to learn what
the article is about. The articles will be approximately 500 words in length. A
color photo or two are included as part of the ad. Ads are priced on a
per-story basis. Also, there is no charge to include your weblink or email link
in the article. There will be a limit of one advertiser per issue in this
section.
DAILY FEATURE:
This section allows you as a business to contribute a monthly article about your
industry. For example, a financial advisor writing an article on investments,
or a doctor writing about the latest in medical news. The article is not to be
a sales pitch for your business, but as the author, you will be credited with
your photo, your business, and contact information. The advantage for you is
that it presents you as the “expert” in your field.
